[Also in Division F2] An agricultural irrigation sprinkling system uses a number of valves, one at each individual sprinkler position 26. The valve (see Division F2-F3) is operated by a reciprocating and rotating drum which is indexed through a succession of angular positions until, at one angular position, the valve opens automatically. The drum is operated by a diaphragm responsive to the water pressure which is applied at repeated intervals by a pump 22 controlled by a timing device (not shown). In this manner successive areas corresponding to the hatched portion are irrigated as a number of the valves open for a determined period.</p> |
