<p>This assembly, including a steering shaft (1) which can move rotationally in a column body (2) including a mechanism (3) with a lock bolt (4) for guarding the vehicle against theft, which can be moved between a retracted position and an active anti-theft position, the said shaft concluding two shaft portions (5, 6), one (5) of them carrying the steering wheel, and the other (6) of them being connected to the rest of the steering mechanism of the vehicle and both shaft portions being connected by disengageable linking means (8) which can be moved, under the control of the anti-theft mechanism, between an active position for coupling the two portions of shaft and a retracted, anti-theft position for releasing the two portions of shaft from one another so that the portion of shaft (5) carrying the steering wheel is free to rotate with respect to the other portion of shaft (6), is characterised in that corresponding end zones (5a, 6a) or the portions of shaft (5, 6) are arranged one around the other and in that the disengageable linking means (8) are mounted so that they can move between the two, external and internal, portions of shaft. <IMAGE></p> |
