FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: tractor-mounted alternative plow has a swinging toolbar with soil-working tools rigidly secured on it and a fixed part joined with the tractor. The toolbar is provided with a mechanism that turns it in the vertical plane. The mechanism is a hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic cylinder is mounted so that its downcast piston rod is positioned at an angle relative to the vertical axis of the plow. The hydraulic cylinder is hinged to the swinging toolbar. The fixed part is provided with rigid rests, and the swinging part of the toolbar has a carrier wheel. The alternative plow is provided with a swivel arm. One end of the swivel arm is hinged to the cylinder's lug, and the other end is hinge-mounted on the fixed part's vertical pillar for swinging in the vertical plane. The rigid rests are located left and right of the horizontal axis of revolution of the swivel arm. The design allows the movable part of the toolbar with the soil-working tools to be turned through an angle of 180 deg, and it helps prepare the turn mechanism for a "back" turn without application of the hydraulic controls.
