PURPOSE: To obtain a flame retardant resin composition having sufficient heat resistance bearable to heating in molding of a synthetic resin or various flame retardant tests and sufficient water resistance. CONSTITUTION: This flame retardant resin composition contains a flame retarder composed of a fine particular ammonium compound having <=100μm particle diameter obtained by dissolving a solid of an ammonium compound in water, adding and blending an insoluble solvent of the ammonium compound such as isopropyl alcohol and recrystallizing in an amount of 15-100 pts.wt. of the ammonium compound to 100 pts.wt. of a resin component.
