<p>A folding chair comprises a front frame (1) provided with a chair back (12) and front legs (11), a rear frame (2) which retractably holds slide links (22) pivotally mounted to the front frame (1) and is provided at lower end sides with rear legs (21), and a seat (3) pivotally mounted to the rear frame (2) at sides near a rear edge thereof and pivotally mounted to the front frame (1) at portions thereof forwardly of positions where it is supported by the rear frame (2). The front frame (1) comprises front leg side pipe members (13), of which portions near upper ends thereof are pivotally mounted to the seat (3), chair back side pipe members (14) which are separate from the front leg side pipe members (13), and connecting members (15) which serve to connect the front leg side pipe members (13) to the chair back side pipe members (14) with their axes substantially aligned. Upper ends of the slide links (22) are pivotally mounted to the connecting members (15) whereby axes of the rear legs (21) can substantially overlap axes of the front legs (11) in a direction of folding.</p> |
