Novel complexes of adrenocorticotropically active peptides or peptide amides containing 18-39 amino acid residues with polyphosphoric acids having on average at least 7 P atoms or salts thereof are prepared by reacting the peptide in aqueous solution with the acid or its salt. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a complex as detailed above together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and have prolonged adrenocorticotropic activity.
