<p>A procedure whereby mature conifer somatic embryos are treated to provide embryos which have improved viability and/or are viable after a period of storage. The procedure involves supporting the embryos out of direct contact with any nutrient containing medium and any liquid(s) on a surface that is substantially porous to water vapour, and then sealing the embryos in a gas environment containing but having spaced from the embryos water and/or a water containing matrix.</p> |
