COMPOSITION FOR BACKING CARPET AND PRODUCTION OF CARPET

PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing a carpet-backing composition excellent in heat resistance, cold resistance and flame resistance, and to produce a carpet. CONSTITUTION: This is a carpet-backing composition composed of 25-75wt.% of a resin component consisting of 50-90wt.% of a specific ethylenevinyl acetate copolymer and 50-10wt.% of a specific ethylene-αolefin copolymer, 25-75wt.% of an inorganic filter and 1-20wt.% of a dispersant. In the backing composition, the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer is preferably a mixture of a copolymer having a high melt index and that having a low melt index. The objective carpet is produced by applying the composition as a backing agent on a carpet material. Further, a specific master batch of inorganic filler is used in the production.
