PURPOSE: To provide a direct feed type apparatus for thermally liquefying plastic wastes, provided with a residue discharge apparatus which is not laborious in the operation and improved in the heat efficiency and the throughput. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus consists of a thermal cracking furnace 21 for thermally cracking plastic wastes, residue discharge pipes 28a and 28b for discharging residues formed after the liquefaction from the bottom of the furnace, a valve intervening between the pipes 28a and 28b, an electric motor 31 set on the upper cover 26 of the furnace, a vertical rotary shaft connected to the motor and having a helical blade 34 on its lower part and a plurality of platy blades 35 and 36 on its upper part, a residue discharge chamber 45 provided at the end of the residue discharge pipe and having a side door 46, a carriage 47 provided so that it may enter or leave from the inside of the chamber, a residue container 48 mounted on the carriage, a noncombustible gas inlet pipe 50 for sealing the inside of the chamber with a noncombustible gas, and air discharge pipe 51. |
