<p>PURPOSE: To easily and certainly supply oxygen to aerobic bacteria propagating on a purifying material by providing a purifying material bed composed of a porous material in the water flow of a river to allow flowing water to pass and sprinkling water over the surface of the flowing water on the upstream side of the purifying material bed from a water sprinkling pipe. CONSTITUTION: When water is purified by aerobic bacteria, the bottom openings of the movable weirs 8 of respective purifying units 4-6 are closed while the opening and closing valves 18a-18c of the purifying units 4-6 are opened to operate a water pump 19. A blower 23 and a compressor 23 are set to a non- operative state and respective opening and closing valves 21a-21c, 25a-25c are closed. Large waste refuse contained in the flowing water from the upstream part of a water channel 1 is removed by a first screen 2 and small waste refuse is removed by a second screen 3 and the water from which waste refuse is removed is allowed to overflow the movable weir 8 of the first purifying unit 4 to be introduced into a water channel to be sprinkled from a water sprinkling pipe 11. Thereafter, water is passed through a water purifying material bed 10 to be allowed to flow to the upstream side of the movable weir 8 of the second purifying unit 5.</p> |
