METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR POWER CONTROL IN RADIO NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably decide transmission power by deciding the power level of signals transmitted to a base unit from communication equipment by utilizing specific parameters. SOLUTION: At a cell site (base unit), interference signals received by means of an antenna 510 are inputted to a measuring instrument 520 and a processor 530 and a set of parameters which characterize the interference signals is decided. Then the set of parameters composed of second order or higher-order moments are inputted to the processor 530 and the desired power level of the signals received at the cell site is decided. A pilot signal generator 540 forms a pilot signal composed of the information on the desired power level and transmits the pilot signal to communication equipment from a transmitter 550 and a transmission antenna 505. The communication equipment decides the desired power level to the cell site from the information on the received pilot signal.
