A starting aid is proposed for vehicle driving wheels with at least one brake ventilation aperture, and fitted with pneumatic tyres. The device has a chain section which extends across the tyre tread, is connected at its ends to a tensioning device extending through the wheel rim aperture, and is capable of being attached to the wheel. The tensioning device is provide with a steel strip (4) which on the vehicle-side inner face of the wheel is suspended by a ring (8) in a hook (7) at one end of the chain (6) and passes through the aperture (5) of the rim (2). On the wheel's outer face, the steel strip can be secured by its T- cross-section end in a bore in the longer limb (3) of a retaining plate which has an L-shaped cross-section and can be attached by the limb (3) to the rim flange. A tensioning bolt with a ring (10) at one end and suspended on a hook at the other end of the chain (6) passes through a bore in a limb of the retaining plate parallel to the shorter limb and through a bore in the shorter limb and can be fixed with a wing nut (11) adjacent to the shorter limb. |
