The corkscrew comprises a handle (1) with a circular aperture (2) and a gap (4) between two side levers (8,9). The handle holds the pivoted upper end of the spiral screw. The screw is inserted into the cork with the handle of the corkscrew aligned with it. After it, the handle is folded over and levered against the top of the bottle neck (10) to release its grip. The handle of the corkscrew is then returned to the vertical position and used to withdraw the cork from the bottle.
