PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel pancreatic cancer treating agent.SOLUTION: The invention provides a composition for the treatment of pancreatic cancer containing an antimetabolite, or an IL-6 inhibitor which is administered in combination with the antimetabolite. Preferably, the IL-6 inhibitor is a substance binding to IL-6 receptors, such as an anti-IL-6 receptor antibody, and the antimetabolite is a cytosine analog, such as a gemcitabine.EFFECT: Reduction in size of the metastatic focus from human pancreatic carcinoma and elimination of ascites are possible.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
