The system is esp. for rail trucks and lorries, the canopy (5) being secured and sealed in place at the ends and supported on hood-sticks. Its side edges overlap the load platform in the downwards direction. A continuous bar (4) extends along each of the canopy side edges (1), clamping it at right angles to the load platform (2). The bars can be of the same length as the side edges, which are clamped between them and bases on the vehicle superstructure, and the bases can be elastic and formed by one half of a hook-clasp fastener, the other half of which is on the canopy edge. Alternatively, the base can consist of a magnetic bar.
