Motor (6) of a laboratory centrifuge is fastened to a housing (4) and has a motor shaft (9) connected via flexible coupling (8) to a rotor shaft (10), which rotates within a bearing unit (13). The bearing is attached to a bearing support (15) and is retained flexibly on the housing. The flexible coupling is pref. a cardan shaft, a flexible shaft or a helical spring connection. The bearing support is pref. an elastic or sprung member. The bearing member may be a flexible rod having a rubber-metal member on either end.
