For damping the shockwave of an explosion triggered by internal ignition, a battery lid (2) is provided on its underside with a fibre mat (3), whose fibre consists of the same material as the battery casing and which is included in the flush-welding of container (1) and lid (2). The mat is, as a unitised punched component, divided into a number of sections (4), corresponding to the number of cells, with connecting strips (5), of which the latter come to be placed over the separator walls (10') during the assembly of the mat in the lid and adhesive bonding and, during flush-welding, are firmly bonded into the fusion zone. <IMAGE> |
