PURPOSE: To improve battery characteristics such as charge/discharge capacities, efficiency, and repetitive characteristics with a carbon material. CONSTITUTION: A heat-treated carbon material and polypyrrole are compounded to form an electrode material for a secondary battery. Carbon material, carbonized material, or graphitized material are prepared for the electrode material for the secondary battery. A polypyrrole layer is formed on the surface of each material, then it is heat-treated.
