<p>PURPOSE: To make it possible to transmit information on character signals or the like superposed on prescribed horizontal scanning lines made in a vertical blanking interval in addition to the information on a video signal in a video conference system, a video telephone system, a stored picture system, etc. CONSTITUTION: A vertical blanking data assembling circuit 7 stores information an character signals or the like superposed on four horizontal scanning lines of 14-thH (277-thH) to 16-thH (279-thH) and 21-thH (284-thH), horizontal scanning lines made in a vertical blanking interval which are outputted through program processing from a buffer circuit 5 in a packet with prescribed length. An MPEG-2 multiplexing circuit 8 multiplexes the packet and video encoding data and outputs the multiplexed data. A synchronizing word is arranged on the head of the packet and a flag and the information on character signals of four horizontal scanning lines of 14-thH (277-thH) to 16-thH (279-thH) and 21-thH (284-thH) are successively arranged.</p> |
