PURPOSE: To increase wear resistance under daily environment and to improve activation property by forming both of a first part in contact with at least the contact body of a vibration body and a second part in contact with at least the vibration body of the contact body with iron or iron alloy. CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic motor as a vibration wave drive device using a wear material is provided with a wear material 1a as a contact part connected to a vibration body 1 and a wear material 2a as a contact part connected to a traveling body 2 as a contact body. Then, the combination of the wear materials of iron alloys reduces the amount of wear. The wear material 2a at the traveling body side is pressed against the traveling body side wear material 1a by a coil spring 4. Maraging steel is harder than a high-speed steel but the latter has better performance in terms of wear. A material where a large amount of hard carbide such as high-speed steel is dispersed thinly should be selected without judging only in terms of hardness. |
