PURPOSE: To obtain an optical thin film with UV shielding effect, thermal rays reflecting effect and reflection preventing effect in which a severe film thickness accuracy is required by applying a coating liq. on a base material and forming an optical thin film by means of a pre-metering coating method in which only a pre-determined amt. of the coating liq. can be applied. CONSTITUTION: In order that 100% of a coating liq. can be transferred on a base material to be coated, this pre-metering coating method provides various optical thin films with UV shielding effect, thermal rays reflecting effect and reflection preventing effect in which a severe film thickness accuracy is refuired. E.g. a reflection preventing film is constituted by forming a low refractive index layer 12 on a transparent base material film 11. In this reflection preventing film, a pre-metering coating system is used for forming the low refractive index layer 12. As the coating material used for forming the low refractive index layer, a binder incorporated with an inorg. substance with a low refractive index such as LiF and MgF2 is used. A binder with a low refractive index alone may also be used and the example is polyvinylidene fluoride. |
