PURPOSE: To obtain a stable tracking signal with a recording medium having a region in which information has been recorded by making a track discontinuous and a data region using a continuous track. CONSTITUTION: In a disk 1, the track pitch of a control signal pit region 3 in which information is recorded by making a track discontinuous or deforming it before marketing is made larger than that of a data recording region 2 which is a continuous groove and the degrees of modulation of tracking signals in both the regions are made almost equal to each other. Stable recording and reproduction are enabled.
