PURPOSE: To eliminate a welding part from an electric current breaking mechanism, and facilitate adjustment and setting for switching from the connection to breaking of an electric current to a set inner pressure value. CONSTITUTION: The opening part 1a of a battery can 1 is sealed by caulking the periphery of a sealing body 2 via an insulating gasket 5. The sealing body is composed of a conductive- material-made rigid disklike sealing lid 6; an insulating-material-made retaining member 7 closedly adhering to the nipping groove 11 of a through hole 10; and a conductive-material- made safety valve 8 wherein a head part 8b abuts to be electrically connected to the sealing lid, a main body part 8c is closely fitted to the inner peripheral surface of a retaining member to connect a lead wire 4 from a power generation element 3 to a tip surface; and a cap-like positive electrode terminal 9. By setting the outer diameter of a main body part, slidable friction force, between an outer peripheral surface and the inner peripheral surface of the retaining member, is made smaller than pressing force to the safety valve based on the internal pressure of the battery can, a set internal pressure value, when exceeding the set internal pressure value, the main body part is relatively moved upward to separate a head part from the sealing lid; and when moreover the internal pressure is increased, a projection 8d passes the retaining member to be degassed through a recessed groove 8e and a degassing hole 9a to release internal pressure. |
