<p>A system and method for displaying wide aspect video information on a 4:3 computer display dynamically adjusts the display hardware to reduce the size of the vertical raster. By reducing the size of the vertical raster, the image can be displayed in its correct aspect ratio without the need for scanning blank lines or for vertical (letterbox) compression. The present invention maintains a relatively low horizontal scan rate while providing a vertical refresh rate sufficient to display full motion video source material without performing a 3:2 pull down operation.</p> |
