A biphasic composition comprises an injectable suspension of (i) a disperse phase which is insoluble fragments of a hydrogel of a strongly crosslinked hyaluronic acid or one of its salts, and (ii) a continuous phase that is an aqueous solution of a hyaluronic acid or salt polymer, and/or another biocompatible polymer selected from proteins, polysaccharides and their derivatives, which are not crosslinked or at most weakly crosslinked. Use The composition is used in corrective and plastic surgery in order to fill out hollows, wrinkles, scars etc in the skin, especially in the face.
