A cold setting wear resistant coating for solid surfaces comprising hard spherical particles of ceramic or metal carbide with a dia. of 5 mm. or less in an amt. of /- 10 vol.% of the final prod., dispersed in a binder comprising an epoxy or acrylic casting resin compsn. with a viscosity of 20,000 mPa.s. or less and /- 10 wt.% of powdered PTFE type material (e.g. TEFLON (RTM) or HOSTAFLON (RTM)).
