<p>A connector such that the contact parts of the contacts of a socket are not exposed to the outside of a housing both before and after the connection between the socket and a header, and even when this connector is used for, e.g., a unit containing a large-capacity battery, short-circuit hardly occurs. The connector comprises the header to which a plurality of contacts are so provided that the post parts of the contacts protrude outward from the header and the socket to which a plurality of contacts which are brought into contact and electrically connected with the corresponding post parts of the header are provided. The socket has a plurality of guide grooves for receiving the corresponding post parts of the header and guiding the post parts to the corresponding contacts of the socket. The guide grooves are so thin that they are broken when they receive the post parts or form slots which are sufficiently narrower than the widths of the post parts. The contact parts of the contacts of the socket are so provided that they are not exposed from the socket.</p> |
