The material comprises: (i) a base; and (ii) silver halide emulsion layer(s) contg.: (a) 2-equiv. pyrazolone magenta coupler(s) of formula (I); and (b) amine(s) with repeating units of formula (II) or (III): R1 = H, alkyl, aryl, acyl, F, Cl, Br, sulphonyl, silyl, NO2, CN, alkoxy- or aryloxy-carbonyl, acylamino, sulphonamido, or CF3; R2 = F, Cl, Br, acyl, alkyl, alkoxy(carbonyl), CN, alkyl-, aryl-, alkoxy- or aryloxy-sulphonyl, acylamino, sulphonamido, CF3, or NO2; X = labile gp.; Y = direct bond or CO; and o, p = 0-5. R3, R4 = H or alkyl; L1 = bivalent gp., pref. -C(O)-R5-C(O)O-R6-; L2 = -O- or -NR7-; and R5, R6 = (cyclo)alkylene or arylene; where: (i) L1 is attached to the N atom of the piperidine ring by R6.
