The cover 7 has a depressed recessed region 9 within which the solar panel 8 is mounted and is fixed by means of bolts 10 passing through the body of the cover 7 and sealed against water ingress. The solar panel comprises a steel backing sheet 13 covered by a white reflective sheet 14 on which are mounted individual solar cells 15. These are linked together and form single circuit from which there are power cables. The solar cells 15 are sealed in place by a transparent silicone sheet 17. In another embodiment the solar panel is glued to the inside of a raised clear acrylic region of the cover.
