<p>Hinge member (1) extrusions for use in forming a hinge connection, each member having a front wall (2) and a rear wall (3) and presenting at one edge a generally C-shaped socket formation (4), the socket formation (4) having a first part circular edge wall segment (5) extending arcuately inwardly of the edge of the front wall (2) to adjacent the rear wall (3) and being connected thereto, and a second part circular arm segment (8) connected to an end of the first part circular wall segment (5) by a web (9) extending inwardly of the first part circular wall segment (5), the first and second part circular segments having a common center (30) with the radius of the inner surface (12) of the first part circular wall segment (5) being slightly greater than the radius (13) of the outer surface (14) of the second part circular arm segment (8). Two such hinge members (1, 1') are required in forming a hinge formation to receive a pintle (24), one (1) of the hinge members has its part circular arm segment (8) connected to its part circular wall segment (5) at the end adjacent the rear wall (3). The other (1') has its part circular arm section (8') connected to its part circular wall segment (5') at the end at the edge of the front wall (2'). The invention also includes folding doors or the like employing the aforesaid hinge members.</p> |
