A stereoscopic objective lens system for video endoscopic includes two fulldiameter collimator doublets (110, 112) and a right/left stereo lens pair including a right and a left ball lens (114, 116). The two collimator doublets and the right/left stereo lens pair cooperate so that the collimator doublets present equal-angle ray pairs from symmetrically disposed object points (12) to the ball lenses of the right/left stereo lens pairs.
