PURPOSE: To provide an inverter which has a small size and can be driven in an ideal since wave by making the floating period of the inverter very short and reducing control errors to a very small value by arranging a predriving means and motor drive on one chip so that the output signal of a driving command generating means can be inputted to the predriving means and the output signal of the predriving means can be inputted to the motor drive. CONSTITUTION: A predriving means 4 is constituted of base drive circuits 34 and 35 and a motor drive means 5 is constituted of power transistors 30 and 31 and diodes 32 and 33. Since the characteristic fluctuations of the transistors 30 and 31 and base drive circuits 34 and 35 can be reduced to very small values when at least the predriving means 5 and motor drive means 5 are mounted on one chip, the turning-on delay time of an inverter can be reduced to about 1/10 of the conventional value.
