DETECTING APPARATUS FOR START CODE IN IMAGE COMPRESSION BIT STREAM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start code detector that detects a start code instructing start of each layer from a video compression bit stream in accordance with the MPEG standard. SOLUTION: The start code detector includes two registers 10, 12, a barrel shifter 14, a state machine 18, a code length generator 20 and an accumulator 22. The start code detector detects efficiently a start code denoting a head position of each layer from a compressed bit stream by using the barrel shifter and a start code detector.
