<p>PURPOSE: To provide an image reading device which can read the images by changing continuously the image resolution in the subscanning direction and also preventing occurrence of the color slippage. CONSTITUTION: An men posjtjon shift correction circuit 19 decides the combination between the magnification of an optical system and the relative shift speed set in the subscanning direction between every linear image sensor and a color original, so that the input desired image resolution is secured and also the value (divisor value N) obtained by dividing the reading position shift extent measured in the subsucanning direction among plural image sensors put on a color original 1 by the scanning line pitch set on the original 1 is equal to the integer value. Based on these relative shift speed and optical magnification, the relative shift speed set in the subscanning direction between every image sensor and the original 1 and the magnification of the optical system are adjusted by the control of a motor 8. Thus it is possible to continuously change the desired image resolution without causing any color slippage.</p> |
