摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display(LCD) formed in such a manner that this LCD is maintained at the environmental temp. for optimum working of liquid crystals at all times by controlling the temp. according to the varying degrees of the light source heat generated from a back light device. CONSTITUTION: This LCD is formed by arranging a liquid crystal panel 3 supported on a mounting free 2 on the front surface side of a case 1, providing the inside of this case 1 with, for example, a tubular cathode fluorescent tube 4 as a light source for irradiating the liquid crystal panel 3 from behind and providing the panel with a reflection material 5 of a shape expanding gradually in a front surface direction toward the liquid crystal panel 3 from the position of this cathode fluorescent tube 4. The LCD described above has a heat medium member 10 which is brought into contact with the cathode fluorescent tube 4, a heat sensitive part 20 which is transmitted with the heat from this heat medium member 10 and is expandable and contractable in a prescribed direction and a heat radiating member 30 which radiates the heat of the heat medium member 10 via the heat sensitive part 20 to the outside of the case 1. The heat sensitive part 20 operates to expand and contract and to attach and detach to and from a heat radiating member 30 so that the member is brought into contact with the mounting frame 2 at the time of parting. The heat sensitive part 20 is composed of a thermal expanding and contracting member, such as bimetals 21, and a heat transmission switching member, as a heat transmission switch 22.
