PURPOSE: To prevent the degradation of transmission characteristics even when the length of a pulse compression fiber fluctuates. CONSTITUTION: A loop composed of a short light pulse generator 1, the pulse compression fiber 2, an optical demultiplexer 3, a light receiving device 6, an amplifier 7, a BPF 8, a phase comparator 9, a loop filter 11 and a driving signal generation part 12 controls the oscillation frequency of a VCO 12-1 so as to match the phase of short light pulses supplied to an optical intensity modulator 4 and the phase of data signals synchronized with supplied reference clocks. Thus, even when the length of the pulse compression fiber 2 fluctuates, the quenching ratio of modulation output is not degraded. |
