PURPOSE: To enable each subscriber to correctly and easily know his (or her) monthly telephone rates for this month and the preceding month. CONSTITUTION: In each call from a subscriber (a digital telephone set 10 or an analog telephone set 20), each of exchanges 30, 31 executes exchanging processing and sends detailed charge data for charge calculation to a charge details system 50, which executes charge calculation and stores calculated data in a data part 530 correspondingly to each subscriber in each month. When the subscriber dials a prescribed specific number in order to know a charge, the exchange 30 or 31 outputs a charge information reading request to the system 50 and receives a response to charge data for the subscriber concerned up to current time in this month and the charge data of the preceding month which are stored in the system 50. Then the exchange 30 or 31 informs the subscriber of the charge data by a voide guidance device 330, and when the telephone set is provided with a character display function, the charge data are visually displayed.
