The use of fumagillol and of esters thereof formed with saturated or unsaturated (C1-C12)alkylcarboxylic or (C1-C12)alkyldicarboxylic acids and of their pharmaceutically acceptable salts for the preparation of medicaments for controlling intestinal infections caused by microsporidia and/or cryptosporidia is described.
