<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a toner having a high rate of rising of electrostatic charge while using a small amt. of an electrostatic charge controlling agent by regulating the ratio of the dielectric loss of a toner to that of a resin binder in the toner to a specified range. CONSTITUTION: In a dry taner based on a resin binder, the ratio of the dielectric loss of the toner to that of the resin binder is regulated to 1.2-2.3. The toner has a sufficiently high rate of electrosatic charge in the case of >=1.2. In the case of >2.3, the rate of electrostatic charge is high but the extent of saturation electrostatic charge exceeds a proper range. By the regulated ratio, the amt. of an electric charge regulating agent in the toner can be reduced by about 50% as compared with a conventional typical example. Polyester resin or epoxy resin may be used as the resin binder. The rapid fusion and penetration of a toner into paper are required by a flash fixing system and polyester resin is preferably used as a resin satisfying these requirements.</p> |
