PURPOSE: To provide a display panel of an apparatus with which a bright display is obtd. with a thin type and which is installed in a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A display panel 10 of a speedometer is composed of a light scattering light transmission body 50, light source elements (LEDs, small-sized incandescent lamps, etc.) La to Lc, a transparent sheet 10 and a pointer 16 having a revolving shaft 15. A masking 14 is formed by printing on a colorless or colored transparent sheet 60. The shapes of the notched parts of the masking 14 to afford a luminous part 13 are determined according to the display contents of a speed scale, figures, characters, etc. The light scattering light transmission body 50 of a disk shape having a shaft k is composed of an even thick central part 51 and a tapered peripheral part 52. The captioned number 54 is a pointer through-hole and is formed with holes 53a to 53c housing the light source elements La to Lc at its periphery. Display light is mainly emitted from the tapered peripheral part 52. Dots 57 are formed by blasting in a part on the rear surface side to emit the display light from the light scattering light transmission body 50 if the luminance part 13 is needed in the part near the central part 51. |
