The suspension comprises a first element (1) in the shape of a plate (4) having several pivoted elastic triangular anchoring teeth (2,3). These teeth, which project obliquely towards the free end (1a) of the plate, are forced towards the plate during its insertion in a slot in the ceiling. They are then elastically returned against one wall of the slot which they then grip. A second element (5) which is connected to and slides on the first element passes through the free end of the first element. The second element is adjustably fixed in position on the first element by a fixing (16) comprising racks (71,72) on the plate. Lug stops (81,82) on the other element are held engaged in the racks.
