PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key operatable to set a data processor to the respective modes of normal/execution, service and securing (safety) from a remote location. SOLUTION: This electronic key for remotely specifying the data processor to a service operation mode, a securing operation mode or a normal/execution operation mode is added to the data processor (computer system). The remote specification is enabled when a physical key 114 or the electronic key is set to the normal/execution operation mode. By setting the electronic key to the service mode, the system is accessed from the remote location and maintenance and debugging are performed.
