Flame retardant compounds including at least one of a group of specified phosphoryl compounds are applied to fiber materials composed of polyester-based synthetic fibers. Sufficiently long-lasting flame retardancy may be imparted to polyester-based synthetic fiber materials without the use of halogen compounds.
