PROCESS FOR BIODEGRADABLE FOAMING POLYSTYRENE RESIN PARTICLES

The biodegradable polystyrene resin foam particles containing starch and an auto-oxidizing agent of transition metals is prepared by: adding 20-300 wt. parts a polystyrene degradable additive containing starch and auto-oxidizing agent of transition metal as to 100 wt. parts styrene polymer particles, melting and mixing with an extruder, cutting them in lengths of 1.5-3 mm, thickness of 0.5-1.5 mm, dispersing this product in the suspension system containing water and dispersing agent, followed by adding 5-20 wt. parts a volatile foaming agent and 2-15 wt. parts a dispersing agent, impregnating them at a temperature of 70-110 deg.C for 3-8 hours.
