The radar proximity fuze has a selectively amplified Doppler signal supplied to a conventional detonation timing circuit (6) is fed also to an active rectifier (8) in an interference suppression circuit (5). A source of bias voltage (12) representing the basic threshold, and an attenuator (13) deliver their outputs via low-pass filters (10,11) to a comparator (9). The filter time constants are chosen preferably as 100 and 1 ms respectively. A Doppler level of at least 8 dB above the system threshold in echo-free space is necessary to trigger the detonation.
