PURPOSE:To read plural card different in timing by one card reader without requiring switching by discriminating the card format at the first data position of one card. CONSTITUTION:Timing disc 3 of timing pulse generating mechanism 3 is rotated by the signal from control part 5 started by external signal 6. The card is driven by the feeding roller (not shown in the figure) rotated synchronously with this timing disc 3, and the tip of the card is detected. The fundamental pulse is generated from timing disc 3 in parallel with card feeding, and odd, middle, and even column clocks are generated in timing generating circuit 4 and are supplied to data buffer 2. Thus, the first data from card reading part 1 is sampled by one of these column clocks, and the card is read by the clock corresponding this column. |
