The air conditioner has a box-shaped housing with a connecting branch for fresh air supply duct and air blow apertures. Underneath the main air blow apertures (7) are auxiliary air blow apertures (8) with horizontal emission. Underneath these apertures are second auxiliary blow apertures (9), emitting obliquely downwards. The second auxiliary air blow apertures open into a lower auxiliary chamber (12), communicating with the remaining inner space (11) of the housing (3), via an opening (13) closable by a controllable valve (14). In front of the main air blow apertures are mounted throttles (18), not available for both types of auxiliary apertures. The upper auxiliary chamber may be separated from the main housing chamber by a partition carrying a blower for pressurised supply of air from the main chamber to the auxiliary one.
