PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a tray for housing the chip of an integrated circuit element and a device for transferring the chip from the load of the chip to the tray. SOLUTION: This improved tray 10 is provided with a base part 22, a pocket for receiving the chip 12 disposed in a prescribed pattern on the base part and an engaging member 14 composed by suspending a leg member 56 for engaging the lower tray and the upper tray of the same kind piled up on it in a twist lock type by being inserted to a through-hole 58 disposed to the base part from a base member 54. The improved device is provided with a means for sucking and holding the chip in a vacuum type, a manually orthogonally movable arm member, a locator pin disposed to the arm member and a location plate provided with a pin hole.
