<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a resin binder ensuring well-balanced fixability and anti- offsetting property of a toner by using a high mol.wt. polymer component having a specified mol.wt. distribution. CONSTITUTION: This resin binder is styrene-acrylic resin consisting of a high mol.wt. polymer component and a low mol.wt. polymer component, and the high mol.wt. polymer component has at least two peaks or shoulders on the higher mol.wt. side of the main peak mol.wt. in its mol.wt. distribution by gel permeation chromatography. The high and low mol.wt. polymer components have been uniformly mixed and each of the polymers is made of styrene-acrylic resin made of a polymer or copolymer of a styrene monomer, other copolymerizable vinyl monomer, etc. This styrene-acrylic resin is produced by a known polymn. method such as suspension polymn., soln. polymn., emulsion polymn. or bulk polymn.</p> |
