PURPOSE: To view automatic stereoscopic video images even when an observer moves in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction of a display device by letting a first area display view data for a left eye and letting a second area display the view data for a right eye. CONSTITUTION: A lenticular screen 30 adjacent to the video display device 32 of the space light modulator or the like of a liquid crystal device is provided. Then, the first area of the video display device 32 irradiates the left eye of at least one observer with light, the second area of the video display device 32 irradiates the right eye of at least one observer with the light, and by a video controller responding to an observer tracking device, the first area displays the view data for the left eye and the second area displays the view data for the right eye. Thus, the left eye observes only a left eye view 18 and the right eye observes only a right eye view 17. Further, by performing control so as to exchange the views at a center part, the display device is not influenced by a small error in the position decision of the observer and is hardly influenced by the aberration of an optical system. |
